cultstatus | Hi! This has bothered me for ages but I've always felt too embarrassed to ask! When I watch astrologers on youtube doing their weekly/monthly reports for the signs they will say what houses things are happening in - but when I look at my transits its in a different house so I'm wondering how they figure this out. Is it because I'm born early in my sign or how do they do the chart for a whole sign? Is it even relevant to me at all? xx |
Leo-Cancer98 | I'd love to help But what exactly is your question? Lol |
Gemini Blues | I'll take a guess. What I think you are referring to... I've seen more generic astrology forecasts say things like this. For example, Gemini, Mars is transiting Sagittarius right now, it will bring Mars energy to your 7th house and that means *blah blah*. What they are trying to say is it may feel like a 7th house transit to a Gemini Sun, because Sag would be in the 7th *if* your Sun was your ascendant. While its better than nothing... well... maybe it isn't... There's not really a substitute for knowing your own chart and learning what your own transits are bringing. |
teasel | Check the forecast for your ascendant, if it's known. I used to check both my Sun and ascendant, but usually forget to check any of them now. I've also been feeling increasingly bothered by forecasts, like one I linked to earlier. I regretted posting it, because I was bothered by the assumption that it would be awful for everyone, or "heated" when there are some who would use the energy better than the rest, or who won't be hit negatively by it. I was just walking outside, with my dad, and the dogs, and the moon is beautiful. |
aquagembaby | Maybe they're using a 12pm birth time or some other generic birth time? But like the previous user said, the more accurate forecasts should be done with the ASC. So the astrologer will pull charts for all of the ascendants and go from there. Some will even recommend you check for your Moon, Sun and ASC and see which one fits the best. But all of that gets pretty complicated... |
Belage | Cultstatus, what those astrologers are doing, they're putting the sun sign in the 1st house and making predictions from that. I don't find most of these solar based types of predictions accurate for me, though 20 something years ago, there was a British astrologer who had a column in the papers and he had this science down to perfection. I would read his forecast and everything was uncanningly correct. I was sorry when he passed away. To this day, I have never seen anyone reach his level of mastery in that particular type of predictive astrology. |
theunknown | It's called solar scope. Solar = sun. And lots of ppl see the sun as your identity; life revolves around the sun. You see life through your solar lens I suppose... It's kinda analysis can apply in natal chart too. I.e. If you were born on a full moon, your moon is technically 7 signs from your sun so your emotional natures are always opposite to who you identify as. Your ascendant is how your chart lays out so you should watch videos for your Asc and your sun sign. I don't think it's inaccurate ... Just might not apply all the time because these videos are generic for a large population and the astrologer might exaggerate to get his/her point across. Predictions in astrology depend also in part on the will. Astrology predicts the likelihood of events, but not the actual results ... If you stay home all day, you'll never run into anyone, date or get married. So even if a stellium of planets is passing by your 5th or 7th, free will in this case wins. |
nordicsoul | I have no clue why, but you can get a more customize forecast for your natal chart. why bother with a general forecast? astrology.com you enter your data and get daily forecast FOR YOU... |
Aries23Degrees | I pay attention to transits to planets because the house interpretations are not exhaustive. And so they can be based on the interpreter(hit or miss) |
theunknown | Nordicsoul, because a real person's analysis is different from description for each aspect |
diamondbaby | I think people are meant to check those forecasts based on their Ascendant sign. Even then the forecasts are not perfectly accurate because obviously not everyone has their Ascendant right on zero degrees of a certain sign. I usually check the videos based on my Sun, Moon, and Ascendant signs and personally I find them to be pretty accurate. I have a few favorite Youtube astrologers, I have been watching some of them since long years. |
cultstatus | Thank you for all of your replies, I am sorry it's taken so long to respond to this thread I have been caught up with university for the last few months. When I first started learning about astrology I began to watch these videos as another means of educating myself rather than reading all of the time. Now that I know how to read my own chart and see what transits are going on I don't watch them as much, though I always wanted to know what process they used to do this. x |
Kannon McAfee | No one can know houses related to your chart without doing your chart and ensuring it is accurate. Forecasts like the ones you've described, cultstatus, are unreliable at best and garbage at worst. Best to just ignore them. I've seen the most hilarious and unbelievable assertions from youtube 'astrologers' who quickly reveal they don't know what the heck they're talking about. You have a higher concentration of attention seekers, fame seekers on video than in written formats. ------------------ The Declinations Guy Rising Sign Descriptions | Expert rectification ♈ ♉ ♊ ♋ ♌ ♍ ♎ ♏ ♐ ♑ ♒ ♓ |
